Business Administration – Student Reflections
Business Administration – Student Reflections
The BBA and MBA programmes offered by the School of Business and Management, Christ University are amongst the most sought-after programmes in the Institution, due to the evolving and dynamic quality of syllabus and an excellent track record in campus placements. The curriculum includes research-based assignments and also provides an opportunity for self-learning. Apart from rigorous academic syllabi that the students go through, they are also exposed to various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to help them equip better for campus placement processes. The following paragraphs are a reflection of students experience on campus placements, curriculum, extra-curricular activities and campus life.
“Placement season can be
taxing for everyone, and given the current pandemic situation, it was all the
more taxing for our batch. Standing in all its glory, Christ University sure looked after its
Christites. With a system so efficient, the Placement Office made sure the placement drives in
our college continued with its ever rising standard even during a crisis. I,
for one was very anxious about my career path but Christ University looked out for me.
The Placement Office ensured
clear and timely communication was received by the students. All our mail
queries, even those that were self-explanatory were answered back in time. I
would like to thank the Placement Office for being supportive throughout the
process and motivating us at every stage of the process, especially as the
different stages were all conducted in a virtual mode due to the ongoing
Pandemic.
My academic department,
School of Management and
Business Studies, Christ University helped me gain the pre-requisite
knowledge and discipline of the corporate world. The subjects were apt in terms
of imparting business and corporate knowledge which ensured, I was in sync with
the latest in the corporate sector. I don’t think I would have landed a job at
Amazon had it not been for Christ University, and I am indebted for being able
to gain employment at the time of pandemic.”

“I still remember the first day at
Christ. When the bus took us to the green luscious campus at Kengeri, I had no
idea it would become my favourite place in the coming months. After two years
of job experience
with an IT company, I did not know what to expect in college other than
academics. However, I did keep an open mind. So, I did put myself out for most
of the activities that came my way. Chrizellenz, or intra-collegiate managerial
fest gave me the taste of management fests for the first time and I found the
learning and excitement that came with it exhilarating. Being a part of the
organising committee for Ushus and Magnovite, our National level intercollege
fests are memories very close to me. Be it the theatre workshop, Cantata, our
sports meet, our hostel day or even the workshops, there was learning that came in
packages of fun. It wasn’t easy, managing assignments, exams and the different
programs that came along. But it was worth it and made me realise my strengths
and weaknesses at a deeper level. The faculties were really supportive and
helped us explore our
skills and thoughts. They gave us the space to think out of the box and
come up with genuine ideas. When we collaborated with our fellow classmates for
various group assignments, we had no idea we were making friends for a
lifetime. Standing with each other, supporting each other and pushing each
other to put in our best happened almost every day. With a diverse set of
students coming from different academic and cultural backgrounds, I could
really appreciate the beauty of diversity and even a casual chit-chat with
friends in the canteen used to broaden my thinking process. At Christ University, School of
Business Management I got to put most of the lessons we learnt to
practice, be it organising, team work, planning, time management or even
divergent thinking. As I start my professional life, I may forget some theories I learnt. However,
the evolution in my thoughts, the perspectives I picked up, some amazing
friends and many awesome memories will stay with me forever. And hence I say, I
had some of the best days of my life at Christ University.
