Purview of Tourism Programmes

School of Business and Management, Christ University offers two unique programs i.e Bachelor Of Business Administration (Tourism and Travel Management) at the Undergraduate level and Master of Tourism and Travel Management (MTTM) at the Postgraduate with a mission of providing trained and industry ready professionals forplacements in the booming tourism and travel business sector.

The highlights of the program are a dynamic curriculum and industry-oriented internships. The students are put through comprehensive teaching and learning techniques including live projects, case studies, role-plays, group discussions and presentations. Group research and travel laboratories provide the students with a blend of theoretical competence and individual skill development. The program places strong emphasis on developing communication and consumer service skills.

The School of Business and Management also hosts a lot of extra curricular activities to help the students develop industry specific skills and get excellent placement opportunities in the tourism and travel industry. Some of the major initiatives include monthly alumni-student interaction to act as a bridge between industry and institution; Industry Interface to update students with recent trends in the industry; International tours to help students gain firsthand knowledge on the functioning of passport and visa procedures, group handling, immigration counters to name a few. ‘Travelitez’, India’s first hospitality quiz also helps students to develop knowledge of thehospitality industry.

The campus placements season is between November to March and top recruiters include Thomas Cook, Orange County, McKinsey and Company, BYJU’s, Evolve Back Resorts, International Travel House, ITILITE Technologies to name a few. Salary packages for freshers are in the range of Rs 3.50 lacs to Rs 6.50 lacs Cost to Company (CTC).Job Profiles include Travel Desk Manager, Documentation Officer, Front Office Executive to name a few.

The twin tourism programmes offered by the School of Business and Management at Christ University, have carved a niche in providing skilled professionals for the tourism and hospitality industry and has been consistently ranked amongst the best tourism and hospitality graduate programmes offered by private varsities in the country.

  Highest Packages and Top Recruiters The placement record at Christ (Deemed to be University) is something to be coveted, both in terms of highest packages offered and also top recruiters, mainly from the Big Four consisting of KPMG, Ernst Young, Deloitte and PriceWater Cooper (PwC) who make a big number of offers. The following statistics serve to authenticate the same.   There are over 60 companies which have offered a minimum CTC (Cost to Company) of Rs 5 Lakhs per annum, going up to Rs 13 Lakhs per annum. The best package offered was Rs 13.12 Lakhs by Sailax AI for students from the MBA and MA in Media and Communication Studies Programmes. Excellent Placements for Post Graduate Programmes in Computer Science

The Academic Year 2021-22 at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), despite the disruption of normal academics due to the continuing Pandemic, has seen an excellent placement record, with 90.7% of the Post Graduate students from Master of Computer Applications (MCA), MSc Computer Science and MSc Data Science getting placed through campus recruitment before the end of December 2021. A total number of 42 organizations have participated in the campus recruitment process during the current year and recruited 206 students.
