The School of Business and Management (SBM) at CHRIST (Deemed to be University) has
been offering Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) since 1994. It is one of the most
sought after B Schools in the country due to the evolving and dynamic quality of syllabus and an
excellent track record in placements. The curriculum includes research-based assignments, and
also provides an opportunity for self-learning – which supports the students in lifelong learning.
External inputs from corporate executives is an integral part of the pedagogy, thus preparing the
students for careers in the industry. The School of Business and Management also has
collaborations with a number of professional bodies like Confederation of Indian Industry (CII),
Indo-American Chamber of Commerce, Indo German Chamber of Commerce, International
Institute of Business Analysis etc which helps the students gain knowledge from an industry
perspective.
Despite the pandemic and a sudden switch to a virtual mode of campus recruitment, MBA
placements at CHRIST (Deemed to be University) for the year 2019-20 have been extremely
good. A total of 132 organizations from different sectors recruited a total of 589 students during
the academic year. These organizations are spread across sectors like Consulting, Artificial
Intelligence, Manufacturing, FMCG, Information Technology, Healthcare, Real Estate,
Hospitality to name a few. The highest package offered was Rs 16.21 lacs CTC, by Sailax AI,
an Australian based technology firm.
Some of the other leading companies that recruited include Accenture, Deloitte, HDFC Bank,
Genpact, KPMG, Citi Group, Nielsen India, Tata Elxsi, Bosch, IFB, ICICI Bank, Hewlett Packard
(HP) to name a few. The job profiles offered include Research Analyst, Relationship Manager,
Business Analyst, Management Trainee, Digital Marketing, Associate Research Manager,
Business Development Executive etc. The top packages offered in terms of Cost to Company
(CTC) include MTR (12 lacs), ITC (12 lacs), ChaiPoint (11.8 lacs), Schlumberger LPA (10.71
lacs), HP (10.50 lacs), CitiGroup (10 lacs), Publicis Sapient (10 lacs) and Odessa Technoogy
(10 lacs). The average package for the year has been Rs 7.20 lacs CTC.
Apart from rigorous academic syllabi that the students go through, they are also exposed to
various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to help them prepare better for campus
placement processes e.g., Business Fests. Also, the School of Business and Management has
a tie-up with XED and Abalia to train and prepare students for a smooth transition from Campus
to Corporate. These trainings include conceptual understanding, monthly aptitude quizzes,
solved examples and practice sums, learning modules in English, Maths and reasoning. Apart
from this, the students also get periodical updates on current affairs, business news, weekly
economic indicators, specialization news covering areas of Finance, HR, and Marketing.
