Christ
University introduced the BCom (Honours) programme to its basket

in 2010, and since then, this is one of the most sought-after programmes at Christ University
with hundreds of students applying for this programme every year. This
programme caters to commerce aspirants who desire to build their professional competence
on a higher plateau with specialized knowledge in the field of Business and
Commerce. The curriculum is duly developed considering the desired level of
knowledge exposure in the context of ever changing environment in global
business. The programme aims to equip students with the necessary
knowledge, skills and attributes needed to excel in the globalized modern
business environment or further academic pursuits.
When it comes to campus placements, BCom Honors has some of the best and high-paying companies that recruit every year. This year, AB-InBev offered a Cost To Company (CTC) of Rs 14.97 Lakhs. Apart from this, the following companies offer the best packages / CTC per annum i.e., Bain Rs 10 Lakhs, Zomato Rs 10 Lakhs,DE Shaw Rs 9.5 Lakhs, Verity Knowledge Solutions Rs 7.54 Lakhs, Axxela Advisory Services Rs 7.2 Lakhs, Tresvista Rs 6.4 Lakhs, Praxis Global Alliance Rs 6.5 Lakhs, JP Morgan Chase Rs 6.2 Lakhs, Kristal AI Rs 7 Lakhs etc. Apart from Finance roles, students also were recruited for other roles such as Marketing / Sales, HR, Analysts etc.
Nothing speaks more than the testimonials of the students themselves. Here, we have two students speaking about their experience during campus placements on what led them to landing good placement opportunities at Christ University and the Department of Commerce.
“My name is Sankalp
Grover (1811078), and I'm a final year Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) “A”
student from the Department of Commerce. I've been placed at Axxela Advisory
Services. My placement
journey was short (luckily, I got selected by the third company I applied for).
But it did have its ups and downs, along with a lot of learning and experience.
The first company I applied for was D.E. Shaw, and I cleared two rounds and got
shortlisted for the first interview round but unfortunately couldn’t make it to
the last round. And for Z.S Associates, the second company I applied for, I did
not even get shortlisted for the second round. These did de-motivate me a bit,
but I made up my mind and worked even harder for the upcoming companies. I was
preparing for CAT as a backup, so it did help me with the aptitude tests. Being
part of the University
Student Council helped in my personality development and develop skills
like public speaking, leadership to name a few. I would also like to mention
the support and guidance provided by the Placements Cell of the college. The Department of Commerce
Placement Talks organized by the Placement Coordinators of my department helped
me gain a lot of knowledge to help me prepare for the placements. The Placement Office of Christ University
helped us by bringing in a lot of companies and giving many opportunities to
the students of CHRIST. Lastly, my class's placement representatives (Priyam
Agarwal and Sanya Jain) for keeping us updated by being active all the time and
working so much for the class, listening to loads of queries and concerns, and
handling them calmly. I reached my current goal of getting placed in the financial services
sector. I hope to accomplish my upcoming goals of performing well in this
company and then go for higher studies or take up professional courses. There's
only one key to success, and it is to keep trying until you succeed.”
“My name is Ridhima
Agarwal and I am the student of 6 BCOM Hons A. I got placed in KPMG Global
Services. KPMG was the 5th organization that I was attempting for campus placements. I would
like to thank the Placement
Office and our Faculty Placement Coordinator for their constant support
and encouragement and for organising ‘Placement Talk Series’ which has helped
students a lot. Even though none of us are in campus, and this process happened
online for the first time, but the faculties made it familiar and easier for
the students by organising sessions to equip them with the needed skills and
knowledge. I would also appreciate the efforts of the placement representative
for carrying out the work smoothly. Department of Commerce has always offered
its students a wide range of placement
opportunities and given a platform to help them grow. Due to lockdown
and COVID-19 situation in the country, students couldn’t complete their
internship, for which Christ
University offered free access to Coursera courses which had helped me
develop skills which corporates might look forward to. The Placement Talk Series
helped me know the experience of my seniors and learn from their mistakes. It
helped me stay positive throughout the process. The challenge which I faced was
answering questions in an interview. During the talk series, seniors had helped
us by giving a certain set of questions that were asked to them and other
questions that could be generally asked. They also gave an idea on how those
questions could be answered. That had helped me boost my confidence. I was very
happy to get placement
at KPMG, and my goal is to learn and excel at my workplace and gain new
insights and experience from it. “
The optimism and determination of the students in the article inspired me. geometry dash subzero emphasized the importance of perseverance and learning from failures.
