Student Reflections – Computer Science & IT Placements of B.Tech.
Reflections are important as it allows students to make sense of their experiences in relation to oneself and others and the conditions that shaped their experiences. It is a process where students describe their learning, how it changed, and how it might relate to future learning experience. Reflection is a skill that often goes undervalued in classrooms that are packed with content. However, reflection is an important practice for students to make sense of and grow from a learning experience, especially with respect to Placements and Training.
The following paragraphs are some of the reflections of students’ experiences on campus placements, as nothing speaks better than a testimonial. Here are a few testimonials of campus placements by the BTech Computer Science & IT students on what led them to landing good placement opportunities at Christ University, School of Engineering.
“Campus placements provide a great opportunity for students to start their career after graduating. I believe placements help students lay a foundation for a practical experience in the real world. The process for placements involved several rounds of assessments varying across the companies. We, the batch 2020, have got enormous opportunities, as every other day we had a placement process to attend. This, in a way, had prepped us and gave us an overview of the process for placements. Also, there was fair chance for everyone to keep trying and lookout for more placement opportunities. The initial placement training programmes were really helpful to give us a start and prepare us for clearing several rounds of placement assessment. It would be incomplete, if I wouldn't mention Sunita Ma'am, for being patient and for helping us throughout the entire process. She was really supportive and had always encouraged us to do the best. I still remember the day when I had my interview, Sunita ma'am had stayed till late until the entire process completed and constantly motivated us, which really helped me to stay less anxious. Lastly, the entire interview process for every company was well organized and hassles free.”
Madhumitha A - Computer Science and
Engineering, 2020 Placed At: SAP Labs
“The campus placement experience was very eventful
for my batch of 2020, I got placed in the very first placement drive at Cerner
Corporation in the 7th semester of engineering. All thanks to
Sunitha ma’am for her corporate network and placement drive. I am happy with my
professional journey with the company and it was the right fit for me. There
were many companies coming in every week to recruit for various computer
science industries sectors. In my personal experience, this was the best placement initiative seen
at Christ University so far.”
Falguni Rathore, Christ University 2020 Batch, Software Engineer @ Cerner Corporation
“I would like to thank Christ University for providing us with a
highly talented, experienced and dedicated placement officer, Mrs. Sunitha Rao,
for the year 2020. Unlike previous years, our batch saw a huge number of companies coming in
and a great percentage of students getting placed, changing the history of
Kengeri campus. I would not be in this current position as an Associate Application
developer in UNISYS without the sincere effort of Placement Office on making sure to open the
right opportunity and guidance for each and every student who wished to get
placed. With at least 2 companies a week, the placement drives were well-coordinated. We were
informed about the company, job role, CTC and the interview, through email, and
also from student placement coordinators through our WhatsApp groups,
considering our convenience and avoiding the least chance of us missing her
mail. It was compulsory to attend all the placement drives. We got every update
from her on time. I’m highly privileged to be part of 2020 batch, with all
thanks to our excellent placement officer at Christ University.”
Mariya Bosy Kondody - Computer science and Engineering
Placed at: Unisys India Pvt.
Ltd as Associate Application Developer
“As a final year student, thinking of placements was all about anxiety and
nervousness. But all went smooth, because of our placement officer Sunitha Rao.
She was like our supporting pillar, who guided us in every step during our placement process and got
us many opportunities. She was a very friendly person who helped us to
understand the placement
drive and always encouraged us. The placement training that we received during our 7th
semester made us realise our strengths and weaknesses. They also taught
shortcuts to clear aptitude, conducted group discussions and mock interviews. The Placement Training
helped in boosting our confidence. I'm very grateful to our Christ University,
Faculty, School of Engineering, and the placement officer for their continuous
guidance and encouragement.”
