Engineering Placements: Growing in leaps and bounds!
Engineering Placements: Growing in leaps and bounds!
The School of
Engineering and Technology at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), established in
2008, has an enviable record when it comes to Campus Placements for Engineering
students. There has been a surge in the number of organizations participating
in campus recruitment since the last two years despite the economic slowdown
due to the Pandemic.
The academic year 2021-22 witnessed a
total of more than 450 students from different Branches of Engineering
including Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology,
Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication
Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Mechanical and Civil Engineering actively
participating in the campus recruitment process.
The top recruiters include reputed and
well established organizations from different sectors like technology firms Capgemini,
Cognizant, IBM, Mindtree etc ; audit firms like EY, Deloitte; manufacturing
companies like Mercedes Benz, Philips, Larsen & Tubro, Luminous, Novo
Nordisk; IT firms like TCS, Tech Mahindra, SAP Labs, Unisys, Wipro to name a
few. The top package was Rs 20 lacs Cost To Company (CTC) offered by Morphle
Labs. Around 10 other organizations offered packages in the range of Rs 10 -15
lacs CTC and the average CTC offered for the current year is around Rs 6 lacs.
Another notable feature of the placement
season has been that more than 50 organizations have provided internship
opportunities for the final year students from the 7th semester to
complete their respective FastTrack curriculum. A majority of these were
converted to fulltime offers on successful completion of the internship.
The
final year students of the Bachelor of Technology programme were also given a
ten-day Campus Recruitment Training (CRT) conducted by Seventh Sense and
Bizotic. The training covered various aspects of campus recruitment process
like resume writing, personal interview, mock group discussion sessions,
analytical skills and logical reasoning. These sessions helped the students to
virtually simulate a campus recruitment drive and provided an insight into key
focus areas.
The
School of Engineering and Technology has also established a vibrant
academia-industry interface through Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with
various organizations such as Renault Nissan, Tech Mahindra, BOSCH, Mercedes
Benz, Tata Advanced Materials etc which help the students to develop skills and
understand academics from an industry perspective.
The School of
Engineering and Technology has within a span of 15 years developed into one of
the leading institutes in terms of the quality of education, holistic
development of students and campus placements for engineering graduates.
