The Department of Commerce, School of Finance, Commerce and Accountancy, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) has been consistently ranked over the past 3 years as amongst the top 6 Commerce colleges in the Country according to the India Today survey on top ranking colleges.

The Department of Commerce has ensured an evolving curriculum which is in tune with the changing needs of the industry to enhance the employability skills of the students. Apart from a robust curriculum, the Department also engages with various external partners and in-house faculty in training the students on various aspects of campus recruitment process like Resume Writing, Personal Interview skills, mock Group Discussion sessions, Logical Reasoning and Aptitude, Quantitative Analysis to name a few. The students are also provided with technical training on areas like advanced Excel etc.

The Department also connected with prominent alumni to address the students on topics such as transition from ‘Campus to Corporate’ and how one needs to prepare for the change. Other topics included additional skills and certifications needed to start a career, challenges of working from home, corporate etiquettes etc. Apart from this, some of the department activities and clubs have helped develop leadership skills, decision making and team work among the students. Students have clubs related to Finance, Marketing and Entrepreneurship Development and constantly share and discuss current knowledge through meetings related to their field.

The quality of the MCom and BCom students graduating from CHRIST (Deemed to be University) has always attracted the BIG FOUR auditing firms viz (KPMG, Deloitte, PwC and EY) into partnering with the University for hiring fresh talent from the last several years. Apart from these, organizations like AB InBev, Tresvista, Goldman Sachs, Verity, Wells Fargo and Deutsche Bank etc are amongst our regular recruiters. The average salary package for a BCom graduate would be Rs 4.50 lacs Cost to Company (CTC) per annum while for a post graduate it is Rs 5.50 lacs CTC.
